Putting Liberia’s interests ahead of self-interest

  1. Liberia’s other major problem, in addition to corruption, and that of many African countries, is that successive leaders have always placed their personal interests above that of the people. Indeed, corruption thrives when leaders put their interests first and those of the people last.
  1. A leader who puts the country first wants to see that all his or her citizens succeed in achieving their aspirations and dreams of a better life, access to better housing and safe clean water, better public health services, better education for their children, etc.
